During Ronald Reagan's administration the axe began chopping, reducing allowable charity tax deductions a citizen could write-off when supporting the nonprofit sector. Since Reagan's era the trend to reduce private social sector funding has gotten worse, thereby relying on big government has only increased.
While benefiting from, and certainly appreciating the generosity and tradition of accepting donations, MERC is additionally applying common sense business principles to the subject of self-funding our own activities, and the greater nonprofit sector as well. Below are listed various initial ways of involvement, included is our "project needs list." If you are able, please get involved with "us" today. 3. Charitable Donation of your time and talent for a specific purpose. We are going to need capable participation in our educational, art and computer related projects.
4. Direct capital investment in one of our exciting social sector projects listed elsewhere. This is an effective way to protect capital by investing in projects that will only increase in value in our changing times, while facilitating your charitable goals. Besides a simple monetary investment, we gladly solicit active participation should you have the time and desire.
